The Center has long advocated that schools and districts undertake thoughtful reviews of the assessments they require, so they create a system of assessments that provides the information they need, without overburdening teachers and students. As part of that work, we partnered with the California Collaborative for Educational Excellence (CCEE) to create an online learning pathway to guide districts and schools through a review process. The resources for the Assessment System Review are:
1. An overview of the challenges schools and districts face in selecting the right assortment of tests to yield the information they need. This overview also briefly outlines the review process and shares districts’ perspectives on using it.
2. The seven modules that comprise the review process.
3. Two blog posts detailing the insights of two California school districts that used the Assessment Review System.
